Parish Council Meetings

No meeting will be held in December therefore the next meeting will be held on Tuesday 7th January 2025 at 7.00pm in Room 3 at the Village Hall.  If any resident wishes to take advantage of the 10 minute public question time please contact the Clerk on 02380 736766 or email clerk@nandr.org.uk.  Parish Council meetings are open to interested residents.

Bill Ashdown

It was with great sadness that the Parish Council was informed of Bill’s passing.  He was Clerk to the Parish Council from January 2014, a position he held for seven years until April 2021 when he retired.  He retained an interest in the Council and was co-opted as a member in July 2023. Bill was well respected by the community and the Chairman and fellow councillors were much appreciative of his contributions in both roles and we send our condolences to his family.

Vacancy – Parish Councillor

Following the resignation of Cllr Phil Lomax who will be moving from the Village, no applications have been received to fill the vacancy.  This is a repetition of the previous notice to fill the vacancy by co-option.  If you are interested in joining the Parish Council please contact the Clerk.  Details are shown on the rear page of this copy of the Village News.

Speed Indicator Device (SID)

The Parish Council has entered into an agreement with Chilworth Parish Council to obtain sample speed indicator devices.  The first device will be located in Station Road, Nursling which has been experiencing a great deal of problems with lorries speeding along the narrow road very close to residents’ properties.  The devices will be solar powered which will avoid regular battery changes and information will be recorded such as speeds and volume of traffic using the road.  We are awaiting confirmation of delivery.

Pavilion

The Parish Council have signed the contract to commence work on the new pavilion.  Part of the car park at the Village Hall will be assigned for construction work and become the site entrance therefore the rear entrance to the Village Hall is now unavailable.  Entrance to the Village Hall will be via the main front door.  In addition, the Parish Council has received confirmation of additional funding from the Community Asset Fund.
