Advertising in the Village News

The Village News is a monthly publication, A5 in size, which is delivered to approximately 2,700 households in the Parish of Nursling and Rownhams. It has been published in colour since September 2021.

The deadline for each edition is 6 pm on the 5th of the preceding month, eg 5th September for October’s edition.

We require advertisements to be submitted as jpeg or png as an email attachment. We cannot accept advertisements in pdf. Please put the name of your business and the month for publication in the subject line e.g. ‘Delia’s cakes for October’.
We do not provide a design service as such, but are happy to offer advice if needed.

Size and Layout:
Quarter page – width 67mm x height 97mm (portrait)
Half page – width 128mm x height 97mm (landscape)
Full page – width 128mm x height 188mm (portrait)
However, our compositor can stretch or shrink adverts to fit within reason.

Cost of advertising:
£5 for ‘pay per word’ adverts, up to135 characters including spaces,
£20 for quarter page adverts,
£40 for half page adverts,
£80 for full page adverts.
Cash or cheques made payable to Nursling and Rownhams Parish Council, should be posted to Village News, 33 Horns Drove, Rownhams, SO16 8AG by 6pm on the 5th of the month.

Regular advertisers will now be able to pay by BACS or Standing Order. Please ask for further information if this is of interest to you.

If required, we are happy to provide an electronic receipt by email. Those submitting adverts must include their name, postal and email address in a covering letter or email.
When repeating an advertisement, kindly provide the design and wording on each occasion. However, we can accept instructions to insert the same advertisement each month on a recurring basis if full payment is received in advance.

We have a limit on the number of pages available each month for advertisements, and some regular advertisers find it beneficial to reserve their place by paying for several months in advance.
